Lugar y fecha de nacimiento. Phil Hartman (1948 - ) Actor, comedian, voice-over artist, screenwriter Born As: Philip Edward Hartman Born: September 28, 1948, Branford, Ontario, Canada Education: Santa Monica College; California State University, Northridge (graphic design) Actor and comedian Phil Hartman's bland good looks and frozen smile easily adapted to the impersonation of a number of diverse characterizations from Frank Sinatra to a caveman lawyer, and helped make him a standout performer over eight seasons of Saturday Night Live (1986-94). His dead-on simulations of a perplexed Bill Clinton, Ed McMahon, or hard-boiled detective Chick Hazard all provided some of the long-running show's most memorable sketches. Hartman was born in Canada but raised in Connecticut and Southern California, where he claims to have spent most of his time surfing before becoming a graphic designer (he created rock album covers, most notably the logo for Crosby, Stills & Nash). Hartman's acting and writing debut came in 1975 when he joined The Groundlings, the Los Angeles improvisational comedy troupe. His association with fellow Groundling Paul Reubens carried over into the co-writing of PEE-WEE'S BIG ADVENTURE (1985) in which he had a cameo, as well as appearing as Kap'n Carl on Paul Reubens's popular series Pee-wee's Playhouse (CBS, 1986-91). His voice has been used for a number of animated series, including Mr. Wilson on Dennis the Menace (1986) and various characters on Los Simpsons (Fox, 1991). An animal rights activist, he provided a voice over for GOING, GOING, ALMOST GONE! ANIMALS IN DANGER (HBO, 1994). Hartman played an obnoxious announcer on the sitcom, Newsradio (NBC, 1995). Unlike many of his Saturday Night Live colleagues, Hartman had no breakout character smoothing the transition to leading roles on the big screen. He made his feature film debut doing a bit in CHEECH & CHONG'S NEXT MOVIE and small roles followed in such uneven comedies as John Landis' THREE AMIGOS! (1986), as Bruce Willis' brother in CITA A OSCURAS (1987), ARMA CARGADA 1 (1993), the SNL spin-off LOS CONEHEADS (1993), and UNA NOVIA SIN IGUAL (1993). Hartman landed his first substantial role in the Michael J. Fox comedy GREEDY (1994), about a family battling over an inheritance. He next co-starred with Sinbad in HOUSEGUEST (1995) as an Ivy League lawyer who mistakes a man on the run as an old school friend, and played a villain opposite Steve Martin in SERGEANT BILKO (1996).
