Lugar y fecha de nacimiento. Kevin Pollak (1958 - ) Actor, stand-up comic Also: Writer, director Born: October 30, 1958, San Francisco, CA A wire-haired stand-up comic turned supporting character actor, Pollak started his comedy career in his native San Francisco at the age of 17. He later moved to LA, landing gigs at such comedy clubs as The Improv, where he honed his dead-on impressions of William Shatner and Peter Falk (moving only one eye), among others. In 1987, Pollak made his first venture to feature films with the madcap flop MILLION DOLLAR MYSTERY (1987). That led to his short-lived TV series Coming of Age (CBS, 1988-89), for which he wrote an episode, and playing a three-inch-tall brownie in the Ron Howard/George Lucas fantasy-adventure WILLOW (1988). Pollack also became a frequent Tonight Show guest by the late 1980s. Pollak's other film credits include Barry Levinson's AVALON (1990), L.A. STORY (1991), as Steve Martin's manager who sleeps with his girlfriend, and Rob Reiner's military courtroom drama A FEW GOOD MEN (1992). His previous teaming with Reiner was on the short-lived TV series Morton & Hayes, a well-intentioned attempt to make a modern program that evoked the golden age of great Hollywood comedy teams. Pollack's career picked up speed in 1993, with good supporting parts in the buddy comedy UN VERANO PARA RECORDAR (1993) and the successful sequel EL MUNDO SEGUN WAYNE 2 (1993). He also was featured as Walter Matthau's son (and Daryl Hannah's love interest) in DOS VIEJOS GRUÑONES (1993) and its 1995 sequel, DOS VIEJOS MAS GRUÑONES (1995). The familiar problems followed: small roles in good films, como GENERACION X (1994), and larger roles in bad films como CLEAN SLATE (1994) y CANADIAN BACON (1995). He played a soulless bastard in the well-received dark comedy LOS SOSPECHOSOS DE SIEMPRE (1995) and that same year was an innocent front man in Martin Scorsese's CASINO (1995). Pollack next co-starred with Jamie Lee Curtis in the dark domestic comedy MIS QUERIDOS REHENES (1996). Pollak's TV experiences have not all been as unhappy as was Morton & Hayes. He has appeared on the comedy showcases One Night Stand (HBO), KEVIN POLLAK: STOP WITH THE KICKING (HBO, 1991), STATE OF THE UNION UNDRESSED (Comedy Central, 1995). None of his series, however, have panned out: The World According to Straw (Fox, 1990), Partners in Life (CBS, 1990), The Real Deal (Comedy Central, 1995).
