Barry Bostwick (1945 - ) Actor Also: Singer Born: February 24, 1945, San Mateo, CA Education: United States International University, School of Performing Arts, San Diego, CA (acting); NYU, Graduate School of the Arts Tall conventionally handsome Broadway musical lead who has also appeared in much TV and the occasional film since the early 1970s. Bostwick won a Tony for THE ROBBER BRIDEGROOM (1976), starred as Danny Zucco in the original production of Grease (1972), and eventually played Nick Charles in the long-delayed, short-lived musical Nick y Nora based on Dashiell Hammett's The Thin Man Stories. Bostwick made his first film impression as nerdy innocent, Brad Majors, in the camp cult classic, THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW (1975) and went on to a number of less memorable films including MOVIE MOVIE (1978), an affectionate spoof of a 1930s double feature, FIN DE SEMANA DE LOCURA 2 (1993), and some direct-to-video releases. He had a rareand best forgottenstarring role in the awful action-comedy MEGAFORCE (1982). On TV, Bostwick has starred in several busted pilots and appeared in numerous guest shots, TV movies and miniseries including War and Remembrance (ABC, 1988-89), Disney PARENT TRAP III (NBC, 1989) and Danielle Steel's ONCE IN A LIFETIME (NBC, 1994). His stolid good looks and upright demeanor made him a natural to star in GEORGE WASHINGTON (CBS, 1984) and GEORGE WASHINGTON II: THE FORGING OF A NATION (CBS, 1986).
