Fiorentino made an impressive debut as an adolescent's object of desire in VISION QUEST (1985)reportedly her first audition. That same year she starred opposite Anthony Edwards in the Cold War thriller GOTCHA (1985) as a sexy secret agent and made a memorable appearance in Martin Scorsese nightmarish comedy, DESPUÉS DE HORA (1985), as SoHo S&M sculptor Kiki Bridges. Fiorentino's next project, Alan Rudolph LOS MODERNOS (1988) allowed her a chance to show greater range. As Rachel, the battered partner of John Lone, Fiorentino displayed a vulnerability previously unexplored by her other screen roles. For the next few years, she disappeared into little-seen ensemble pieces like QUIÉN DIJO QUE TODO ESTÁ PERDIDO (1991) and CHAIN OF DESIRE (1992). In 1994 Fiorentino commanded attention playing a ruthless femme fatale in John Dahl neo-noir LA ÚLTIMA SEDUCCIÓN (1994). Made for cable, the film received such raves that it was picked up for theatrical release, with Fiorentino picking up most of the accolades.
