Lugar y fecha de nacimiento. Catherine O'Hara (1954 - ) Actress Also: Writer, director Born: March 4, 1954, Toronto, Ontario, Canada Canadian-born comic actress and writer who gained acclaim for her contributions to SCTV during the 1970s and segued to a successful feature career as a supporting player in some very popular comedies in the 80s and 90s. On TV she was notable for her sharply observed impersonations (her Faye Dunaway in CHINATOWN was a SCTV standout) and tartly intelligent comic creations. After SCTV, O'Hara became a frequent guest in specials for her colleagues. In features, she has come to specialize in flaky, somewhat broadly played characters, memorably in BEETLEJUICE "EL SUPER FANTASMA" (1988), MI POBRE ANGELITO (1990) and MI POBRE ANGELITO 2 PERDIDO EN NUEVA YORK (1962). Her eccentricity can become downright unsettling, as Martin Scorsese demonstrated in DESPUES DE HORA (1985) when he cast her as a crazed ice cream truck driver. O'Hara displayed a softer side as the frail voice of Sally, a lovely creation in the Frankenstein tradition, in EL EXTRAÑO MUNDO DE JACK (1993). She has also become a TV director, winning kudos for her work on the series Dream On (HBO).
